The Making Of Urban Prison
The Making Of Urban Prison
I know this just a map, but I want to share my ideas with other people that come across my page.
Why Did I Build Urban Prison?
I built Urban Prison because I want to catch that moment that Doom presented when it was released---My goal is to make Doom scary again---I want players to be surrounded by that fear that was so well presented by ID Software.
What Urban Prison Has To Offer
Urban Prison offers a wide variety of new things :
1.) A new environment to explore
2.) New sound effects to heighten the scare factor
3.) The music to enhance the fear
4.) The lighting to set the mood of the map
The Making of the Atmosphere
The atmosphere itself took the longest to create---For me, it was the sound effects and music---The music was the best part by far---I used alot of different sorts of music and did a lot of cut and pasting and mixed them together---The end result will hopefully surprise a lot of people---The sound effects were pretty difficult to accomplish---The sound effects vary, but the player will notice a change---The lighting was pretty interesting to play with, but I put it to good use!!
Music that is used in Urban Prison :
1.) Doom 64 and Playstation Doom Songs
2.) Marylin Manson (musical scores)
3.) Dark Side of Phobos songs
Sound effects used in Urban Prison :
1.) Doom 3 (slightly altered)
2.) Home made sound effects
3.) Home made vocals
I give credit to ID Software for Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 music, sound effects and the games.
I also give credit to Marylin Manson for his amazing musical scores
